Summary

Megan Beckam is the Science Master Teacher for ÁùºÏ±¦µäTeach at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno. In her position she teaches courses, organizes and coordinates field experiences for students, and works to implement and maintain a quality teacher preparation program. She works with elementary, middle, and high school educators within the Washoe County School District to place, observe, and assist the next generation of science and math educators.

Prior to her work with ÁùºÏ±¦µäTeach she taught all levels of secondary science including Physical Science, Proficiency Science, Earth Science, and AP Physics. She is Nationally Board Certified and has been a recipient of the Sandra Daugherty Outstanding High School Science Teacher award. During her fourteen years as a high school science teacher she served as a Teacher Fellow as part of a National Science Foundation grant, participated in a BSCS Field Test Course on Energy, wrote successful grants for classrooms supplies, and traveled to New Zealand and Switzerland for science education.

When not in the classroom you can find her in the outdoors on her mountain bike or backpacking with her family.
