Summary
Ryah McKay, M.Ed. was born and raised in Las Vegas, ÁùºÏ±¦µä. She graduated from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno in May of 2020 receiving her Bachelor of Science in Humen Development and Family Sciences with a focus in Developmental Disabilities and continued her education at Texas Tech University receiving her Master's of Education in Special Education in May of 2022 at the age of 24. In 2023, she began her journey of receiving her Ph.D. in Special Education with a focus in High Incidence Disabilities where she continues to this day learning to help shape the future of post- secondary special education which is often overlooked.
Ryah is passionate about inclusive higher education and facilitating opportunities for students with disabilities. She is proud to be a part of the Path to Independence program here at UNR again as she interned here in 2019. She hopes to bring a new outlook to the success of students with disabilities in the higher education setting through her research and work here at UNR. Ryah is a ÁùºÏ±¦µä native who shares her life with her husband Michael and their two dogs Huxley and Koda. In their free time they enjoy being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful Sierra ÁùºÏ±¦µä and all that it has to offer.
