Summary
Marisa Nabong, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA-NV, is a doctoral student in the Special Education and Disability Studies program at the University. She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood education and a minor in human development and family studies. Marisa completed her master's degree in special education with a focus in applied behavior analysis, and is now a licensed board certified behavior analyst.
Marisa has gained experience in a variety of settings over the last 10 years, including working at the Child & Family Research Center for children birth through age five, serving as an intern with Sierra ÁùºÏ±¦µä Journeys to bring outdoor science education to local classrooms, and attending the Morningside Summer Institute in Seattle to learn about a behaviorally-designed instructional model. Marisa taught as a general education teacher and as a special education resource teacher for more than five years in the Reno area. She currently works as a behavior analyst at a private clinic providing skills for independence, as well as social and safety skills to individuals along the Autism Spectrum.
Marisa is passionate about providing high-quality services for children and their families with precision, collaboration, and compassion. She has a deep love for learning and is humbled by the opportunity to grow as an educator and share space with others committed to serving those with diverse abilities and from diverse backgrounds.
