Summary

Hyun-Joo Jeon earned her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood Special Education from Iowa State University. She was a research scientist at the University of California Los Angeles and managed several evaluation studies of child care, family literacy, school readiness, and in-service teacher training programs. She has been involved in several research projects: the National Early Head Start Research and Evaluation Project, the Midwest Child Care Research Consortium Project, and Quality Intervention for Early Care and Education. Her research interests include influences of quality of peer interaction, teacher-child interaction, parent-teacher relationship, teacher education and qualification, and quality of early care and education settings on children's developmental outcomes. She is also interested in studying influences of children's emotion regulation and parent-child interactions on cognitive, language, and social-emotional development of children with developmental risks. Currently, she is teaching introduction of early childhood education, child socialization, and child guidance and parenting.
