Restoration Ecology Research

The interdisciplinary nature of the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Science provides unique capacities for developing cutting-edge, systems-based approaches to restoration ecology, a field of increasing importance to the western United States. Faculty in the department work on restoration of ecological function and plant and animal habitat in disturbed forests, rangelands, wetlands and agricultural systems, innovating ways to increase native species abundance and diversity.
