The world is experiencing unprecedented changes in climate due to human activities and faculty in the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Science have strong interest and expertise in understanding the many consequences of these changes for biological and physical systems. Research focuses on how plants, animals and physical processes in forest, rangeland and montane ecosystems respond to varying temperature and moisture regimes, with a focus on their impacts upon natural resources.
