Dr. Tung received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno in 2006. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 2009 and 2012, respectively. His research interests at Purdue University included the vibrations, dynamics, and fluid-structure interactions of microsystems.
After completing his doctorate Dr. Tung began his postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado under a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship. At NIST, his research focus involved contact resonance atomic force microscopy (CR AFM). Particularly of interest were the fluid-structure interactions arising from CR AFM applications in biological and liquid environments.
