Tournament and league overview
League play
Designed for team participation, leagues consist of a five-week season with each team competing once per week for a five game season. All teams that qualify then move onto a single elimination championship tournament for that sport.
Tournament play
Designed for individual or team participation, tournaments start and finish during a designated time period, usually within a week. Participants usually play multiple games.
Divisions of play
All leagues and tournaments are recreational to promote participation over competition. Intramural Sports play features Men's, Women's, and Co-Ed divisions. Some sports will have further divided levels of play that could include an "A", "B" or "C" in a division. Co-Ed leagues will require a minimum number of women and at least one male needed to begin and play a game. More specific rules are available in the specific sport's rule books.
Eligibility
All officially enrolled University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno students, faculty, and staff members are eligible to participate in Intramural Sports. When competing in Intramural Sports, undergraduate students must be enrolled in six undergraduate credits, and graduate students must be enrolled in at least three graduate credits. Participants must show a valid University ID each time they wish to participate in intramural sports. Players on a Co-Ed team may also play in the Men's or Women's division of the same sport.
