A first Black graduate, and a life worth remembering

Theodore Miller’s graduation in 1930 in engineering was a groundbreaking one for the University

A letter written by Theodore Miller dated December 15, 1976 that reads:  Mr. Warren . d’Azevedo, Professor Department of Anthropology University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä Reno, ÁùºÏ±¦µä 89507  Dear Prof. d’Azevedo;  I have been to several major book stores in San Francisco, only to find that your book “American Indian and Black Students at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno†is not available. I would appreciate it very much if you would send me a copy.  The September issue of “The Alumni News†listed your book value at Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50). I am enclosing a check for Three Dollars ($3.00) to cover the cost of mailing.   I have contributed annually to the UNR Alumni Association for a number of years. My wife and I drive to Reno occasionally and I usually try to visit the University. On my next visit I will stop in and say hello to you. We should have a very interesting visit.
