Housing and dining rates
A down payment of $300 is due in order to complete your housing application. This down payment is applied to your housing charges and is only refundable if you cancel your housing application before June 15, 2023 (October 15, 2023 for Spring 2024 Only applications). Please visit the license agreement for more information about the timeline and fees related to cancelling after June 15.
Failure to pay the amount on or before the due date will result in action by the University including, but not limited to, eviction, exclusion from meals, academic holds, payment due in full, and/or late fees.
University policy requires that each semester's room and board fees, along with other University charges will be deducted from financial aid or scholarships. A portion of the student fees will be used to purchase food and beverages in support of student programs.
Housing rates
Because students sign an academic year license agreement (August-May), academic year rates are applied to student's accounts 50% fall semester and 50% spring semester. Students living on campus for only spring semester are responsible for 50% of the academic year rate. In addition, the rates below do not include the $192 housing charge required for incoming first-year and transfer students participating in ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT or TransferFIT. Students who have an on-campus housing assignment are expected to live on campus during ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT or TransferFIT, as this helps bolster student success.
Rates are combined for fall and spring terms and do not include summer housing.

Meal plan rates
Students are able to use their meal plans in 20 different dining spots located all across campus. Whether swiping into our dining hall, using the meal trade program or paying with FoodBucks, students have the versatility and portability of eating anywhere on campus for any meal. Our goal is to ensure our students are full and fueled for academic success.

Each plan provides a number of weekly meal swipes per week and FoodBucks to allow students convenience and flexibility with their plan. We also offer a number of different meal plan options. Please visit the for more information.
FoodBucks
Each meal plan includes a designated amount of a declining balance credit called FoodBucks. FoodBucks can be used at any dining location on campus. When making a food purchase, simply present your WolfCard to the cashier and let them know you would like to pay with FoodBucks. The amount of your purchase is then deducted from your FoodBucks balance. FoodBucks may be purchased and loaded onto your WolfCard at any time through the .
Swipes and meal trades
Each meal swipe grants you access to Pack Place, our all-you-care-to-eat dining facility located in the Downunder which is on the ground floor of Argenta Hall. Pack Place has over 10 dining stations, one of which is Thrive, a completely separate kitchen where menu items do not include any of the 9 major allergens (i.e., gluten, dairy, shellfish, nuts, etc.).

Meal plan changes and cancellation requests
- First-year students living on campus: You are required to have a Silver, Blue, or Gray plan. You can change your meal plan during the first three weeks of each semester. To request a meal plan change, please visit your online and complete the Meal Plan Change Academic Year Application.
- Sophomore and above students living on campus or any student living off-campus: You can change or cancel your meal plan during the first three weeks of each semester. To request a meal plan change during this time frame, please visit your online and complete the Meal Plan Change Academic Year Application. To cancel your meal, plan please email us at housing@unr.edu.
- After the first three weeks of the semester, you are welcome to request an increase to your meal plan by emailing us at housing@unr.edu.
