Summary
Professor Mitchell is a member of the Honors College Faculty. She teaches the Honors Leadership series which focuses on peer leadership in the fall and community leadership in the spring. Professor Mitchell also directs Honors Peer Coaches for Honors Beyond: The Mentorship Network. Under Professor Mitchell’s guidance, Peer Coaches are available for one-on-one mentoring for every incoming first year honors student. Peer coaches also serve as resources for the entire honors community. Finally, Professor Mitchell works with Peer Coaches to support incoming honors students with student-directed spring and summer programming. Professor Mitchell has a Bachelors Degree in Communications: Global Journalism from Drexel University and Master of Fine Arts in Motion Pictures and Television: Directing Focus from Academy of Art University. Professor Mitchell has expertise in all aspects of film and television production, including directing, screenwriting, storytelling, production, video and sound editing, and social media engagement. Prior to joining the Honors College, Professor Mitchell worked at the Jenesse Center, developing educational film and media in support of women and families experiencing domestic violence. Professor Mitchell has also taught at Oakwood University and taught and supported students at Oakland Freedom School.
