Step 1: Finish the enrollment process
- . Your MyNEVADA username and password will be different than the username and password you created to submit an application to the University.
- Create your MyNEVADA profile. After clicking on activate account, you'll be prompted to create your MyNEVADA profile. Complete the fields on this page and click "Submit."
- Create your MyNEVADA password. After creating your profile, you will need to create a MyNEVADA password.

After your application has been evaluated for admission and you've been accepted, you will receive an admission packet with a letter informing you of your acceptance. Your next step is to accept or decline your admission offer to the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno.
Accepting admission to the University is a non-binding decision.

Accepting admission to the University
Log-into MyNEVADA. The first step is to log-in to using your NSHE ID and password. Once you log-in, you will see your submitted application along with a link to "Accept or Decline." After clicking on the link, you will be prompted to select "I Accept Admission" or "I Decline Admission."
Accept or decline admission. Confirm your decision by clicking on the appropriate button. Finally, select "Confirm Admission" to complete the process. Your account will update overnight and your status in MyNEVADA will change from "Applicant" to "Student."
What happens if you decline admission?
If you choose to decline admission, all of your associated applications (e.g., scholarships, housing applications) will also be canceled. This action cannot be reversed.
After you've completed your application, activated your MyNEVADA account and accepted your admission, you need to complete your Advanced Registration. Advanced Registration includes paying your fully refundable deposit and completing a questionnaire.
Advanced Registration deposit
In order to register for classes, receive a class schedule before current University students and attend summer orientation, you must pay your fully refundable $125 deposit. This deposit is applied towards your tuition and is paid directly in MyNEVADA.
Log-in to MyNEVADA and you will see "Advanced Registration Deposit" under the "What I Owe" section. Navigate to "Make a Payment" and you can pay your deposit by credit card or electronic check.
Advanced Registration Deposit deferrals may be available. Email mynevada@unr.edu with “Advanced Registration Deposit Deferral” on the subject line to make a request .
Submit your Advanced Registration questionnaire
After paying your deposit, you can submit the questionnaire. The questionnaire may be found in the Supplemental Forms section in your account.
Log-in to using your NSHE ID and password. You will see a list of forms available to you, including the "Advanced Registration Questionnaire." Click on the link for the form, answer all of the questions and then click "Submit."
Advanced Registration is not complete until both the Deposit is paid (or deferred, if applicable) and the questionnaire is submitted.
Math and English placement are required for registration. You will not be enrolled in courses until this step is complete. You can meet the requirement by:
- Submitting official ACT/SAT scores and/or
- Submitting official in progress dual enrollment, AP, or IB courses and/or
- Completing the University’s free placement methods: English DSP (3-minute survey) and ALEKS for math (accessible in via the ALEKS tile).
You may send ACT or SAT scores directly from the testing agency by using the following school codes: 4844 (SAT) and 2494 (ACT).
You can use MyNEVADA Applicant Center to verify we've received your test scores. To do so, log-in to MyNEVADA with your NSHE ID and password. Navigate to the "Academics" section and look to the drop-down menu. Select "Test Scores" in the menu. Here you will see all of the test scores we've received to-date. If you took a specific test more than once, you will see each test's score.
Once you have completed and submitted the Advanced Registration Questionnaire and paid the Advanced Registration Deposit, you will automatically be registered for classes. Based on submitted SAT, ACT, AP or IB test scores, your stated major and information provided on your Advanced Registration Questionnaire, your Academic Advisor will automatically register you for your Fall class schedule. You do not have to do anything. Schedules will take at least 7-10 days for your academic advisor to build. Once your Fall class schedule is generated, it will appear on your MyÁùºÏ±¦µä home page. Please note: We typically do not start registering students for Fall until mid-late January.
If you have not yet submitted new SAT, ACT, AP, or IB test scores, or have updated results, please send them to Admissions and Records and email mynevada@unr.edu to request a schedule revision.
At this time, students will not be able to change their classes or schedule until attending New Student Orientation. At orientation, students will schedule an Academic Advising appointment. After attending your advising appointment, students will be able to adjust their classes and schedules.
In order to register for classes, we must receive a copy of your immunization records. All immunizations must be on file for course placement.

Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and a wait-list begins when applications exceed available space. If you plan on living on-campus, it is important you apply for housing as early as possible.
Priority deadline is February 1.
Remember, the housing application is separate from the admission application.
WUE freshmen are required to live on-campus their first year.
Step 2: Participate in New Student Summer Experience
Our New Student Summer Experience includes Orientation and ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT programs, which are required for all first-year students who start school in the fall.
Transfer students are encouraged but not required to participate in Orientation and ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT.
Orientation is a required program to help new students and families get connected and make the most of services that help you succeed at the University.

- Required for new first-year students
- All orientations are single day only
- Transfer-only sessions are available
- Family members are invited to register for the same session date
During New Student Orientation, students will meet with advising and schedule an Academic Advising appointment. Most advising appointments will take place virtually the week following orientation. Students who do not attend orientation will not be able to make an advising appointment.
During your Academic Advising session, you will meet with an advisor within your major college, review your fall class schedule, update Math and English placement as needed, and make any changes and adjustments to your schedule. Students with an undeclared major will meet with an Exploratory advisor. Students cannot make changes to their fall schedule until after receiving Academic Advising.
ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT is a one-credit academic program that is held one week prior to the start of school. It is a student success and preparation program that helps you get ready for life at the University and the rigor of college courses.
Students attend one of 11 college-based camps and participate in a collaborative learning experience by pairing with an undergraduate mentor in their selected major and moving into a study group known as a "Pack." Students also meet and engage with faculty, staff and fellow students in their academic major.

- New transfer students can apply to the TransferFIT program on the ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT website, which is not required
We invite incoming students and your families and supporters to join us for a weekend of events to kick off ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT and the new school year. Opening Weekend includes activities, open houses, and meetups on campus to keep you busy between your move-in time and FIT check-in.
- Residence Hall move-in dates will be assigned Thursday, Friday or Saturday – wait to find out your move-in day before making travel plans
- All students must arrive on campus to check into their ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT campus by Saturday, August 17
- Students will receive their iPad Air, Apple Smart Keyboard, and Apple Pencil as part of the Digital Wolf Pack Initiative during Opening Weekend
- New students and guests are invited to attend Opening Ceremony Saturday evening
- More information about Opening Weekend events will become available on the Orientation website no later than July
- Students will attend ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT College Welcomes on Sunday
All students are required to take college-level gateway English and math courses in the first year of enrollment. This can look different for each student, depending on your standardized test scores and requirements of your major. Placement testing and alternative placement pathways are available for incoming students who wish to change their initial English and/or math course placement.
