Key dates
Your summer experience kicks off with new student orientation and takes you through your first week on campus.
June - August: New Student Orientation sessions
The New Student Orientation program helps ease the transition to college for incoming students and their parents and supporters. Students get to know campus, meet classmates and prepare for a great first year at the University. Orientation is required for all first-year students, and optional but highly recommended for new transfer students. Parents and other supporters are invited to participate in a family orientation program that takes place at the same time.
August 14-17: Opening Weekend
Attend New Student Check-in, move into your residence hall, attend Fan Fest and Opening Ceremony, and more! Here's your chance to connect with other students and get to know your community.
August 16-21: ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT and TransferFIT
ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT is a required one-credit academic camp for all incoming first year students. It is designed to help students successfully transition from high school to college and provides realistic exposure to the style, pace, intensity and rigor of college courses. After completing ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT, students are better prepared for their first semester of college.
TransferFIT is an optional three-credit course for transfer students that runs alongside ÁùºÏ±¦µäFIT in the evenings with similar goals and objectives, but extends virtually into the fall semester.
