Summary

Matthew (Mateo) King graduated in 2018 with a Master's degree in Spanish through the Department of World Languages and Literatures at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno, teaching introductory Spanish as both a teaching assistant and instructor. He has since been teaching both Spanish and Core Humanities as an instructor at the University. In 2024, he was awarded the Fusco Distinguished Letter of Appointment award for his work in the Core Humanities program. He also teaches with the Intensive Spanish Summer Institute at Lake Tahoe Community College. Before the master's program, he graduated from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Geography in the spring of 2015. His research interests involve literary theory and geographical thought in Spanish literature, linguistics and second language acquisition, and instructional design in higher education. Outside the classroom, he loves riding bikes and attending concerts and plays.
