Summary
Beatriz Robisnon was born in Mexico City and obtained her B.M. in Vocal Performance with a minor in Spanish at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno. She then went on to obtain an M.A. in music in 2000, an M.A. in Spanish in 2001 and graduated with a Ph.D. in Basque Studies in the spring of 2009. She believes that there are strong connections between music and language acquisition and those who enrolled in her classes most likely learned to sing a song or two. She taught 100, 200 and 300 level courses. She was also the faculty advisor for Sigma Delta Pi (The Spanish Honor's Society).
Robinson had been the Spanish club advisor since 2010. Under her direction, the club hosted important cultural events to promote and enhance the study of the Spanish language, such as Ilan Stavans in 2011, Elena Poniatowska in 2013, and Jose Hernandez in 2016, among many others.
