PACKTransit Campus Shuttle

The University of ��ϱ��, Reno's main campus is spread across 290 acres. Don't worry, Parking Services offers a free shuttle service during the Fall and Spring semesters with a complimentary GPS-tracking app to make your cross-campus commutes quicker, easier, and more comfortable. The shuttle service does not operate during winter break, spring break or the summer.

PACKTransit now offers live shuttle tracking through our partnership with Downtowner. You can use the mobile platform to see real-time shuttle locations, stops, and estimated arrival times. No ID is needed to ride, and it's free for all passengers boarding at campus stops.

East-campus residents

For those students residing at The Highlands and SAGA apartments, in order to utilize the shuttle service, must pay an annual fee to the University. This fee provides one shuttle access card and one Evening Parking Permit. The shuttle card must be presented when boarding the shuttle at the resident complexes. The Evening permit will allow parking for one vehicle per permit on campus after 3:30 p.m. in the West Stadium Parking Complex, after 5;30 p.m. in Silver, Tan, Green and Blue 1 zones and at meters excluding zones, spaces and meters marked RESERVED and “Enforce 24/7”. The bus service does not operate during winter break, spring break, or the summer.

PACKTransit operates a basic service in one continuous loop around the campus. This service line, called PACKLine, will serve 10 stops from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The PACKTransit campus shuttle operates only during the Fall and Spring semesters and discontinues service during Summer and Winter breaks.

Starting at the stop in front of the Jot Travis Building, which is the Dorms' North stop, the campus shuttle moves north on Virginia Street, stopping at Church Fines Arts. It then continues north on Virginia Street, turning east on E. 15th Street and then veers northeast going north of Lombardi Recreation Center, servicing the Lombardi Recreation stop. Just after Lombardi Recreation Center it goes north along East Stadium Way until it turns west just past the Family Medicine Center at the traffic circle, serving the School of Medicine stop. It then continues west on 17th Street until it turns north between the U.S. Post Office and Central Services for the Post Office stop. It continues north and then it then turns back east just south of North McCarran Boulevard to service the North Green Lot stop. The shuttle continues east through the north Tan lot north of the School of Medicine, servicing the Enterprise Lot stop, and then meets up with Enterprise Road. The shuttle then crosses Evans Avenue, along Enterprise Road to The Highlands and Saga Reno Apartments where it circles back around towards Evans Avenue. The line follows Evans Avenue south where it stops at Ponderosa Village. The shuttle then continues south where it stops at Cain Hall and continues to a small circle made just south of Fleischmann Agriculture serving this stop. The shuttle then loops back heading west on 9th Street. At North Virginia Street the line heads north to meet back up with the original starting location at the Dorm North stop.

Shuttle bus passenger policy

This policy of the University/Parking Services prohibits the following acts on any shuttle bus:

Smoking tobacco or any other substance, or carrying a lighted or smoldering substance in any form.
Carrying aboard or consuming any alcohol in open containers or drinking alcohol.
Carrying aboard any weapon except for weapons carried by peace officers.
Carry aboard any flammable substance except for matches and cigarette lighters.
Carrying aboard any package or article of a size which will block any aisle, emergency exit, or stairway of the vehicle.
Carrying aboard any animal not housed in an enclosed carrying container, or carrying a container which blocks or hinders travel in the aisle, emergency exit, or stairway. Service animals are allowed.
Carrying aboard a stroller unless such item is folded and unoccupied. Strollers must remain folded while aboard the shuttle bus and must not block or obstruct an aisle, emergency exit, or stairway.
Playing radios or other audio devices or musical instruments aboard unless the only sound produced by such item is emitted by a personal listening attachment (earphone) audible only to the person carrying the device producing the sound. An exception exists for peace officers, security guards, and for shuttle service operators while performing their official duties.
Littering, discarding, or depositing any trash, debris, or offensive substances.
Spitting, urinating, or defecating.
Damaging, writing upon, or otherwise defacing or altering property.
Fighting or engaging in any violent, tumultuous, or threatening behavior.
Making excessive and unnecessary noise, or using profanity.
Obstructing the free movement of passengers.
Interfering with the safe operation or movement of a shuttle bus or shuttle operator.
Standing or otherwise occupying any space in front of the white line marked on the forward end of the floor or otherwise conducting himself in such a manner as to obstruct the vision of the vehicle operator while the vehicle is in motion.
Impeding the opening of, or interfering or tampering with, or otherwise obstructing the operation or use of, any window, door, or other emergency exit.
Sleeping.
Canvassing, soliciting, or distributing pamphlets or other documents unless authorized by a shuttle service official.
Posting or removing any notice or advertisement unless authorized by a shuttle service official.
Throwing any stone, wood, snow or other substance at, into, or from any shuttle bus.
Gambling or soliciting others to engage in gambling.
Engaging in any activity prohibited by State, County, or Municipal law.
Entering a shuttle bus through the rear exit door unless directed by a shuttle bus operator or supervisor.
Climbing through a window or extending an arm, leg or head out the window of any shuttle bus.
Hanging onto or attaching oneself to any exterior part of a shuttle bus while the vehicle is resting or in motion.
Loitering or riding a shuttle bus for extended periods for more than 2 loops, except for boarding, disembarking, waiting for a shuttle bus, participating in a University/Parking Services-sponsored event, or conducting legitimate business with the University/Parking Services or its representatives.
Running or engaging in any horseplay.
Refusing to leave shuttle bus after having been ordered to do so by the operator of the vehicle, a security guard, peace officer, or shuttle bus operator or supervisor.
