Summary
I graduated from Amherst College in 2020 with a B.A. in Geology. While at Amherst, I was fortunate to participate in a variety of geological research, including organic carbon and mercury content analyses of Ediacaran and Ordovician-Silurian sedimentary formations, as well as structural fieldwork in a fault zone in southwest Montana. For my senior thesis, I conducted field studies, as well as quartz crystallographic preferred orientation (CPO) and grain boundary analyses to investigate Paleoproterozoic deformation in the Ruby Range Mountains of southwest Montana. I am interested in combining microscopic and macroscopic structural analyses, geochemistry, and petrography to study the evolution of orogenic settings.
I am very excited to work with Dr. Stacia Gordon to investigate the crystallographic modes of lead loss and retention in deformed zircons. For my master's, I will particularly focus on samples from the Western Gneiss Region, an ultrahigh-pressure (UHP), and multiphase metamorphic terrane in Norway.
