The University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno is a public university and is governed by the same laws as any government body. Therefore, all members of our community are protected under the First Amendment. Having this freedom is important to our daily lives, but it also has the potential to offend and hurt other individuals.
Our University is unable to restrict these liberties, but we do offer services for students who have experienced discomfort from specific situations of open exchange and ideas.
Support resources for students
Counseling Services
The mission of Counseling Services is to provide psychological services to University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno students to support and facilitate their personal and academic success and development. Counseling Services offer individual counseling, group counseling, consultation and urgent care. Counseling services staff is a multi-culturally and educationally diverse group of psychologists, social workers, therapists and doctoral trainees. They're located in the Pennington Student Achievement Center, Suite 420 and can be reached at (775) 784-4648.
Downing Counseling Clinic
The Downing Counseling Clinic is a training center for graduate counseling students. The clinic is a part of the Counseling and Educational Psychology Program at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno. All sessions are conducted by graduate students. They offer individual counseling, couples counseling, family counseling, play therapy and consultations. They're located in the William Raggio Building, Room 3007 and can be reached at (775) 682-5515.

Crisis Call Center
The Crisis Call Center is a 24-hour, 7-day, 365-days per year crisis line that provides a safe source of support for individuals in any type of crisis. They can be reached at (775) 784-8090.
Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office is available to coordinate and provide support to students especially when they are experiencing difficulties. Dean of Students staff is located on the Lake Level of the Clark Administration Building and can be contacted at (775) 688-6846.
The Center for Student Engagement
The Center for Student Engagement works collaboratively with the Associated Students of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä (ASUN) and The Office of the Associate Vice President for Student Life Services under the Division of Student Services to engage, educate and empower undergraduate students to take action in the best interest of the student body and the university community. They're located in the Joe Crowley Student Union, third floor and can be reached at (775) 784-6589.
The Multicultural Center
The Multicultural Center provides programs and services that support the academic and social success for all students at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä through advisement, leadership development, counseling, student organizations, outreach and intercultural programming. The center offers a multitude of opportunities for student involvement, support, networking and social interaction.
