We are an outpatient mental health clinic within the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno's Department of Psychology. Our clinic provides training for doctoral students in the University's clinical psychology program, as well as low-cost treatment for adults living in Northern ÁùºÏ±¦µä.

The center offers brief or long-term individual, group and couples therapy to address a wide variety of psychological problems, relationship issues and personal concerns. Clients work collaboratively with psychology trainees and the supervising clinical faculty to resolve emotional/behavioral problems and reach personal goals. All assistance and records are confidential, except as excluded by law.
The clinic is open year-round but has limited availability of services in the summer and winter. We are closed whenever the University is closed (e.g., holidays, snow days).
The Psychological Services Center is an outpatient-training clinic. Phone calls may not be immediately answered and phone messages may not be returned for 24 to 48 hours after they are received. If you need emergency care, you must call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are in crisis or believe you may harm yourself, you can also contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Our clinicians are graduate students in the doctoral training program and are supervised by full-time members of the clinical psychology faculty. Therapists and supervisors represent a range of skills and interests, and whenever possible will be matched to a client's interests and needs.

People who are interested in nonemergency services at the Psychological Services Center must call the main number, (775) 784-6668, and either talk to the clinic staff or leave a message with the answering service in order to schedule a phone screen.
Upon completing a phone screen, potential clients are then matched for fit with available PSC services, based on anticipated openings. Some services may have a waiting list. Individuals who cannot be served or cannot wait will be given referrals to appropriate community services.
Once there is an opening, an in-person session ($20 flat fee) is scheduled to further assess the individual's needs. A map, directions and parking pass will be sent prior to the appointment.
Clients should arrive 15 minutes before the first intake session to complete initial paperwork. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who can sign their forms.

Parking for Psychological Services Center clients is on the second level of the Brian Whalen Parking Garage.
You will need to obtain a parking pass from the clinic assistant or your therapist before parking in this lot.
Look for the white "Psychological Services Center" signs. These are the first three parking spots on the south end of the garage near the elevators. If all three spots are full, public parking is available on the first floor of the garage.
Please place the guest parking pass on the left side of your dashboard to avoid receiving a parking ticket. Unfortunately, we cannot reverse parking tickets.
University students in treatment at the Psychological Services Center are not billed for therapy. Students should first contact the Counseling Services by phone at (775) 784-4648 before seeking services from the Psychological Services Center.
The Psychological Services Center is not currently set up to bill Medicare or Medicaid. Should a client have private insurance and wish to use it to help pay for their therapy, then it is the client's responsibility to contact their insurance company to verify coverage and their co-pay amount.
The Psychological Services Center is closed whenever the University is closed (e.g., holidays, snow days). During breaks and summer, hours can be limited.

The THRIVE Center offers Therapy, Healing and Recovery from Interpersonally Violent Experiences. This program is for individuals who have been impacted by violence, specifically domestic or intimate partner violence.
La Clínica VIVA is a mental health program for Latinx victims of crime. Our services are culturally tailored and available in Spanish. Most commonly, we work with people who have been impacted by sexual violence, domestic violence and physical abuse.
The SIERRA Families Program teaches Skills to Improve Emotion Regulation and Relationships Among Families. Our services aim to teach parents the skills they need to manage their own stress and emotions, and provide them with skills to help them in their role as a parent.
