Indigenous Student Services
The Multicultural Center developed the Indigenous Student Services program to assist Indigenous students in obtaining a university education by providing recruitment and retention services and activities that promote academic success and graduation from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno.
What we do
Advocacy and support
Our outreach activities include:
- Coordinating workshops and resources that connect students to campus life and student organizations.
- Conducting information sessions and providing individual guidance on college admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Native American Fee Waiver and financial aid support to prospective students and their families.
- Conducting one on one non-academic advising, support and referrals to on-campus and off-campus resources.
- Hosting college and university tours for Indigenous prospective students.
- Providing guidance and resources to Residential Life for the Indigenous LLC.
- Supporting and advising Indigenous clubs and organizations.
Events
We host many events, including:
- Indigenous People's Day
- Indigenous Graduate Celebration
- Native Heritage Month Programs
- University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno Powwow
