Course details and housing information

  • Daily class schedule: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Cost: $750-$850 course fee + $50 lab fee (includes some materials*)
  • Workshop students must be 18 and up.
  • No college or teacher recertification credit will be offered in 2024.

The course and lab fees cover some materials, possible kiln firings, equipment rental, etc. You will receive a list of tools and materials that you should bring with you in your info packet.

Full course and lab fee refunds are available for withdrawal up until four weeks before the course start date.

Complimentary breakfast sweets, fruit, coffee, and tea will be provided each morning at the workshops. No other meals are included. 

Every Tuesday at 6 p.m. during the workshop weeks, we will host a “Meet the Artist” lecture in Holman Arts and Media Center. These events are free and open to the public.

Spouses, parents, children and friends are welcome to visit the studios before and after classes and attend the Tuesday “Meet the Artist” lecture but may not accompany the participant at the workshops. There are many activities to enjoy in the area, including swimming, boating, biking, and hiking.

Upon paid registration, students will receive an information packet by email with maps and directions to UNR at Lake Tahoe, class location, what to bring to the workshop, and other pertinent information, as well as Tahoe visitors info.

Housing available at UNR at Lake Tahoe

Summer Arts Workshops attendees may reserve single or double dorm rooms with private bathrooms on campus, subject to availability. A linen bundle can be rented for $25. Weekly room cleaning and linen turnover are included with multi-week stays. There is no maid service and meals are not included. Additional nights may be available at an additional charge.

2024 housing prices

Single week-long housing

  • $1,026: 6 nights, Sunday night through Saturday morning

Double week-long housing

  • $513 per person: 6 nights, Sunday night through Saturday morning

* The $25 linen rental includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, one blanket, one pillow, one pillowcase, one bath towel, one hand towel, one washcloth, toilet paper, mini soap, and free wifi. There is no air conditioning or television. No additional taxes or fees.

Incline Village housing

A wide variety of resort, hotel, and vacation rental options are available in the immediate area. The Parkside Inn is located directly across the street from the Holman Arts and Media Center Building.
