Summary
Dr. Andy Rost is a Teaching Associate Professor at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno at Lake Tahoe campus where he teaches a range of Earth, Environmental Science, and Ecology classes. His teaching emphasizes placed-based instruction that highlights the Sierra ÁùºÏ±¦µä and Great Basin Regions. As much as possible, he utilizes immersive field experiences as a powerful pedagogical tool to create highly impactful, student-centered, educational experiences. He is currently a Co-PI on an NSF-funded project in undergraduate biology education, RIVERS, that focuses on increasing the quantity and quality of river-based field courses at institutions throughout the United States.
