The Grant Sawyer Center for Justice Studies helps facilitate research opportunities for faculty and graduate students by providing resources on topics of judicial decision making, capital trials and jury decision making, among other topics. Center staff can also help with grant writing support. In addition to justice studies support for faculty and students, the Grant Sawyer Center actively seeks speaking and engagement events to bring awareness to the campus around justice studies and judicial education.
The Center facilitates research by creating an interdisciplinary community of scholars for research on formal and informal aspects of social justice, by assisting in the development of proposals for external funding for research on justice and by providing an opportunity for students in various programs to conduct database research on their theses and dissertations on justice issues. The Center is also committed to pursuing justice research in global arenas.
