The University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno offers attractive and highly customizable health insurance plans to meet your and your family's needs. We also offer highly competitive retirement plans with uncommonly generous employee-employer contribution rates. Please note that health, retirement, and other benefits vary by employee type. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The University has a partnership with  to support employees (and eligible dependents) through life's difficult moments. Mountain EAP is located in Reno and specializes in counseling and advising services for personal or interpersonal issues, such as depression, anxiety, parenting issues, or conflicts at work or home. Services are available to employees and their eligible dependents.  Eligible individuals may receive up to three free sessions per year (you may continue on insurance benefits if you wish).  Classified employees are eligible to use Administrative Leave for two one-hour visits.  Counseling and Advising services are strictly and legally confidential.

Leave

To help you navigate your work-life needs, the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno offers leave to assist you with personal or family illness and other life events. Human Resources is available to guide you through your leave events and transitions back to the workplace. At the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno, we encourage taking time off when sick, taking care of sick family, or in need of a vacation. Leave varies by employee type, however. Learn how much paid time off we offer employees in your role, and read out policies on accrual carryover/forfeiture/payout at separation for sick time/family sick time and annual leave.

Grants-in-aid for eligible employees and family members

The University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno provides its staff and faculty, as well as eligible family members, access to reduced-rate educational opportunities. Benefits vary by employee type. The Grant-in-Aid Application Form needs to be submitted for Departmental and HR approval on a per-semester basis. For both undergraduate and graduate student Grants-in-Aid waiver rates and insurance costs, please see our Student Grants-in-Aid page.

Interest-free computer loans

Need a new personal computer? Enjoy one free loan per year from NSHE Payroll Services! You may borrow up to $2,000 and pay it off monthly through payroll deductions. Loans are subject to the availability of funds and are available to faculty and classified employees who have worked in a permanent position for the university for one year with an FTE of at least half-time.


Purchase computers, books and more on campus

The ÁùºÏ±¦µä Wolf Shop, now owned and operated by Barnes and Noble College, offers Windows computers, books, clothing, cosmetics, and Wolf Pack merchandise.


 

WolfCard discounts

Reno is proud to be a University town! Many local businesses offer discounts to WolfCard holders, some to just students, and others to faculty and staff as well. We don't have a list of businesses that offer faculty and staff discounts, but if you plan on visiting any of the businesses listed on the Associated Students of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä (ASUN) Pack Friendly Businesses page which lists businesses that offer student discounts, it wouldn't hurt to ask.


On-campus passport service in the Joe Crowley Student Union

Employees, their families and the public will soon be able to get passports on campus in the Joe Crowley Student Union. This service was previously offered at the Wolf Shop, but will soon by provided by ASUN. In the meantime, please visit the for more information about local passport offices.
