Scholarships

Through the generosity of our many donors and supporters, the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources has the ability to award over $175,000 in undergraduate and graduate scholarships annually. These scholarships are primarily awarded based on academic merit and financial need. However, some scholarships have additional criteria that are specific to students in particular majors or from specific geographic regions. Students in the College will be considered for all merit and need-based scholarships and be selected for nomination by a committee of College faculty representing each department. The committee will base their award recommendations on information obtained from the Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarship Application with strong emphasis on the following criteria:

  • GPA
  • Financial need (only if required by scholarship criteria)
  • Extracurricular activities (i.e. club participation, community outreach, participation in research projects, part-time employment, etc.)
  • Specific demographic information (i.e. resident of rural ÁùºÏ±¦µä; high school alum status; students belonging to under-represented groups, veteran status, etc.)
  • Family status (i.e. first-generation college bound, single parent, etc.)

Academic merit and need-based scholarships

  2. Scholarships requiring financial need information:
  3. Students must be enrolled in a major or affiliated graduate program within the College as a full-time student (i.e. 12 or more units for undergraduate; 6-9 units for graduate) and have shown satisfactory academic progress toward graduation.
