Some examples of technical assistance that Animal Resources can offer are listed below. We provide support to ÁùºÏ±¦µä System of Higher Education (NSHE) facilities and all its associated academic departments, as well as outside entities. New projects are welcomed from all interested investigators, subject to review and approval by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.

This campus strictly adheres to all guidelines set forth by the Institute for Laboratory Animal Research of the National Research Council (2011) for the care and use of laboratory animals, by the American Dairy Science Association, the American Society of Animal Science, and the Poultry Science Association in the care and use of agricultural animals in research and teaching (2020), by the applicable portions of the USDA Animal Welfare Regulations (Code of Federal Regulations, Title 9 Subchapter A), by the stipulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (2015), and by the policies and position statements of AAALAC International.

- Animal shipping and receiving services, including quarantine health testing

- Transgenic mouse blastocyst microinjections, pronuclear injections, in vitro fertilization (IVF) recovery procedures and other projects, cryopreservation and cryorecovery
- Embryo transfer for re-derivation of rodent strains with health testing
- Transgenic rodent tissue biopsy and genotyping
- Training in several available imaging platforms
- Training in maintaining asepsis and general infection control
- Training in general anesthesia and physiological monitoring of anesthetized animals training
