Component overview
Local Alerts display under the menu on every page on your site. Local Alerts are ideal for announcements, deadlines or important updates for your users.
- Local Alert components are housed in the Section Control: Because these components are controlled by the Section Control, they cannot be placed on individual pages. The Alert will appear on all pages that use that Section Control.
- Local Alert components can be used on all page schemas: Local Alert components may be used on Section Fronts, Section Detail, Profile Detail and Degree Detail pages.
- Local Alert components only offer one color: Local Alert components only have a blue background.
- You may remove option for a closeable Local Alert: By default, an "X" appears in the Local Alert, allowing users to turn off the alert. You may remove this option, making the Local Alert permanent.
- Only one link is allowed with a Local Alert: The link appears in bold text at the end of the Local Alert component. You are not allowed to place a link within the body copy of the alert. The component doesn't allow formatting of links, so you're unable to use proper anchor text.
- Anchor text must be unique: Make sure your anchor text is specific and does not cause a duplicate link error.
ALERT: UNIT NAME - Purpose
- Example: ALERT: PROV - Coronavirus Update
