Component overview
Image Tiles place text next to an image in a grid pattern.
- Image Tile components can be used on all page schemas: Although Image Tile components function best on a Section Front, they may also be used on Section Detail, Profile Detail and Degree Detail pages.
- Multiple Image Tile components can be placed on one page: Image Tile components may be used several times on a page, but be cognizant of overuse.
- Consider the layout of your Image Tile component: Image Tile components offer different layout options (e.g., 1-tile, 2-tile 3-tile or 4-tile). The image sizes will change based on the number of tiles you use. Think about this sizing when placing the component on a Section Front (more space) versus a Section Detail (less space).
- Watch your text length: Long text in Image Tiles may cut-off, especially when sizing to a mobile device. Be consistent and brief when using 3- and 4-tile Image Tile components.
- Image Tiles stack on mobile: Make sure to preview your pages on both desktop and mobile when using Image Tiles.
- There are multiple background colors: You may select from four colors (Primary Blue, Secondary Blue, Silver and Dark Gray). Consider how you use these colors when building Image Tile components.
- You do not need to include a call-to-action link: Although Image Tiles allow for call-to-action links, they are not required. Image Tile components can simply be used to convey information directly on the page without taking the user to another location.
- Image Tile images must have alt-text: The images in Image Tiles convey information and are required to have a descriptive alt-text for users.
- Image Tile anchor text (links) must be unique: Each anchor text must be unique to that link to ensure you do not create a multiple destination link accessibility error.
The required image size for Image Tiles is 640 x 640 px.
