Summary
Maxwell Miyasato is pursuing his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. He is interested in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of psychopathology and the effects of therapeutics on such disorders. He is also interested in how inhibitory neurons play a role in circuit formation and the molecular underpinnings of these circuits. His passions include diversity and inclusion in STEM, and how to create spaces in science where everyone can partake in problem-solving. One of his career goals is to help with diversity in STEM by creating equitable spaces for peers and being a good mentor for future scientists.
