Summary
Dr. Fisher was an associate professor in the Department of Political Science until 2015 when she retired from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno. Her research and teaching at UNR focused on the role of interest groups and their impact on legislative decision-making, publishing in some of the field's top journals. She has written two books on interest groups and lobbying in California and, with Professor Robert Ostergard, she co-authored a text on how to succeed as a college student in the social sciences.
After leaving academia, she began working for the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office and CCC Foundation. She currently oversees the development and implementation of systemwide student success reforms designed to improve equitable student outcomes in community colleges.
She missed teaching after retirement and truly appreciates that she can still work with students in her online courses at the University.
