Summary
Grant Fairchild is a graduate student in the Integrative Neuroscience Ph.D. Program working in Dr. Jacqueline Snow’s Real-World Cognition Lab. His projects investigate differences in brain and behavioral responses to real, 3-D objects vs. 2-D images using fMRI, EEG, and eye tracking. The goal of these projects is to clarify the extent to which work done with images applies to the real world. Grant is heavily involved in neuroscience outreach and in developing infrastructure and community in the University’s growing neuroscience program.
Research interests
In addition to his current work on real-world cognition, Grant's research interests include the neural correlates of consciousness, mental imagery, multisensory perception, and computational neuroscience methods.
