The minor in geological sciences includes foundational courses in geology that cover topics such as plate tectonics, oceans, the atmosphere and climate.
You'll also be able to chose from a range of electives, including courses in earth materials and geochemistry, earth history and field methods. You can select additional upper-level electives, in consultation with a geological sciences advisor, that match your interests and round out your program of study.
Our program offers you the chance to study and get involved in undergraduate research opportunities in the many natural laboratories of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, California and the western United States. You can also take advantage of opportunities to gain hands-on experience in our well-equipped research labs or out in the field through courses and research projects, working closely with research-active professors at the University.
Geological engineering is a relatively rare degree with only 13 undergraduate programs nation-wide. This makes its graduates and their unique training extremely sought after.
