Summary

Michael is a licensed psychologist at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno Counseling Services, and he specializes in psychological assessment and coordinates the assessment program at Counseling Services. He first came to Counseling Services in 2018 as a post-doctoral fellow with an emphasis in assessment after completing his doctoral internship at Utah State University Counseling and Psychological Services. Michael earned a Ph.D. and master’s degree in clinical psychology from Wichita State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint.

In addition to specializing in assessment of ADHD, learning disabilities, and internalizing disorders, Michael’s professional interests include working with students struggling with anxiety, trauma, OCD, as well as adjustment and interpersonal problems. He also enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ students, and graduate/medical students. He uses an evidence-based integrative approach that draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy while also integrating aspects of interpersonal therapy and mindfulness. In his free time, Michael enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and traveling.
