Wintermester and spring 2021 courses
September 14, 2020
This message was sent to students at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno.
Dear students,
We are quickly approaching the point in the semester when you will need to choose your 2021 wintermester and spring semester courses. To help you with these decisions, we want to inform you that the University will continue to offer courses through the modalities that we are currently using for the fall 2020 semester through the end of spring 2021 semester. Specifically, courses with enrollment capacities of 35 or greater will be taught online, while courses with enrollments capacities of 34 or less will predominantly be taught using the alternative-HyFlex modality. Laboratory, studio and select lecture courses may be taught in-person only. As was done for the fall, we will continue to provide students the opportunity to request 100% remote instruction during 2021 wintermester and spring semester, an email with instructions on how to do so will be sent later this semester .
If the COVID 19 situation improves and social-distancing requirements relax, we will allow larger group gatherings that are consistent with state and local guidelines. In regards to instruction, this may allow us to expand in-person classroom capacities for alternative-HyFlex, alternative in-person or traditional in-person courses. However, all classes that begin the spring semester partially or entirely online (i.e. alternative-HyFlex, alterative-remote or traditional remote) will remain available online to ensure remote students have continued access to their courses.
We want to thank you all for your efforts to keep the Wolf Pack community safe and campus open.
Sincerely,
Kevin Carman
Executive Vice President and Provost
