Outstanding Master Student
The Outstanding Master Student Award is given annually to graduate students who have distinguished records within their programs, shown leadership qualities on campus and worked for the improvement of our College.
Dan is graduating with a master’s degree in biotechnology and is working as a graduate research intern through the Howard Lab for Nephros Inc. During his internship, Dan worked on the development and execution of assay validation experiments for a modern, mobile, qPCR-based waterborne pathogen detection system. During his undergraduate career, Dan was awarded an international research grant to perform cancer research abroad at the University of Shanghai, China. During that time, he worked with biologists and engineers designing a novel bladder cancer detection technology designed to detect early stage cancer cells using their unique electrical and mechanical properties. Looking forward, Dan is excited to start his career in either the biotechnology industry or in medical science.
