BCN Human Resources, as part of a statewide personnel plan, administers a compensation schedule consisting of over 50 different salary ranges. Each class in the classification plan is assigned to a salary grade and each grade consists of 10 steps. Increases from step to step are not automatic, but are based on merit and satisfactory performance. An increase may not be awarded if an employee's performance is below standard.
