The Washoe County Commission proclaimed Oct. 25 ÁùºÏ±¦µä Water Innovation Institute Day at its Oct. 25 meeting.

Civil and Environmental Engineering chair Krishna Pagilla, director of the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Water Innovation Institute (NWII), accepted the proclamation and introduced other NWII researchers present: associate professors Eric Marchand and Keith Dennett, research scientists Lin Li and Laura Haak, and student researchers Kevin Stewart, Niloufar Gharoon and Madeline Carine.

The NWII, a university-led partnership that collaborates with regional agencies on water issues, recently celebrated its fifth year. Its projects include wastewater monitoring to determine the presence of COVID-19 in the community as well as work around water reclamation technologies, storm water control technologies and water reuse.
