Dear Wolf Pack Family,

In honor of the University’s 150th anniversary, you are invited to a special performance of the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Wind Ensemble & Choir, celebrating the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno’s sesquicentennial on Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Fine Arts Nightingale Concert Hall. This event promises to be something very special — if there has been a “music” of our University throughout our history, it has always been about shared achievement and a sense of community where the talents of all are appreciated. The gathering on April 19 is sure to remind us of this very important silver thread that has run throughout our University’s history.

The evening featuring the superb talents of our Wind Ensemble and Chamber Singers will culminate in the premiere of “And the Cities Rise Like Dreams” by Steve Danyew that we commissioned in honor of the University’s 150th anniversary. Steve, a New York-based composer of international renown, has been praised for his “startingly beautiful” compositions by the Miami Herald and recognized for “sensitivity, skill and tremendous sophistication” by the Kansas City Independent.

Please join us as we attend this inspiring performance and commemorate 150 years of excellence. The event is free for all faculty, staff, students and youth and there will be free parking in the Whalen Parking Garage.

Go Pack!

Sincere regards,

Brian Sandoval,
President
