Today's terrible tragedy at UNLV
December 6, 2023
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
This is an unimaginably sad and shocking day for our entire state with the news that there are multiple victims from an active shooting incident on the UNLV campus. Although we do not know many of the details associated with this tragic news at the present time, our heart is broken for the students, faculty and staff of UNLV and the community of Las Vegas. UNLV is our proud partner in higher education in ÁùºÏ±¦µä, and we stand with the people of UNLV on this terrible day.
There is no current threat to the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno campus.
I wish to remind everyone there are a number of campus resources that can help during these difficult times. Counseling Services offer therapy and psychological services for students; the Downing Counseling Clinic (through the College of Education and Human Development) offers therapy services for students, faculty and staff; and the Employee Assistance Program is available for faculty and staff. The University’s LiveWell program is also available to help you prioritize your well-being and navigate campus resources that are available to help you do so.
We send our deepest sympathies and our thoughts are with the families of the multiple victims of this terrible tragedy. Today and in the days to come we are all Rebels.
Sincere regards,
Brian Sandoval
President
