Robyn Brunscher, a professional with over 25 years of experience in the supply chain management industry, will serve as the inaugural director of the newest industry-based program in the , Supply Chain and Transportation Management.
“I want to teach the next generation about this fabulous industry no one knew about 25 years ago,” Brunscher said. “Every company has a supply chain and needs people who are highly educated and skilled in this field.”
Prior to accepting the role of director of the Supply Chain and Transportation Management program at the University, Brunscher worked in business development roles at several different companies. She served as president of the fulfillment division at iDrive Logistics, customer engagement lead for a moonshot project at X Company, a subsidiary of Alphabet, and in various roles for United Parcel Service, Inc.
“We are excited to have Robyn join us in this new program,” Gregory Mosier, dean of the College of Business, said. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience that will prove to be beneficial to our students and help direct our efforts in support of the industry.”
The new program was announced in late 2021. It was fully funded by ITS Logistics, one of the College’s corporate partners. Planned class offerings include a supply chain management course, a seminar-based course centered around a specific aspect of the industry, such as transportation and a summer practicum for students to gain hands-on experience with local supply chain professionals.
“We intend to blend the curriculum with practicum and internships,” Brunscher said. “I have the chance to share my personal experiences from over 20 plus years in the industry, introduce subject matter experts, and combine it with the research and data that has been collected.”
The Supply Chain and Transportation Management program is one of four new industry-based programs in the College of Business. Other programs offered include Risk Management and Insurance, Sports Management and Real Estate. These programs prepare students for a multitude of job offerings locally and globally.
Current students can enroll in Supply Chain and Transportation Management courses starting in spring 2023. In the future, students can pursue a minor, micro-certification or major in Supply Chain and Transportation Management.
