For those opening or owning a business, understanding the pros and cons of forming an LLC, or limited liability company, for the business, is essential. To help small businesses understand all the implications of operating as an LLC in ÁùºÏ±¦µä, University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno Extension will hold two online town halls, on March 17 for English speakers, and March 24 for Spanish speakers. In addition to experts from Extension and the Small Business Administration, Kevin Johnson, attorney with Cohen Johnson Parker Edwards, will be a special guest on the panel.

“Kevin is going to talk about the characteristics of a ÁùºÏ±¦µä LLC and the points to consider when deciding if you need an LLC for your business,” said Buddy Borden, economic development specialist with Extension’s Business Development Program. “LLCs can help reduce some risks for business owners, and certainly during uncertain times like these, it’s good for business owners to understand what it means to operate their business as an LLC.”

In addition to the online town halls, Extension will also offer two free webinars late in March, an English-language session focusing on livestreaming for business on March 19, and a Spanish-language session on cash flow, income, expenses and taxes on March 26.
