Names of the finalists for President of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno have been provided to the University by the ÁùºÏ±¦µä System of Higher Education (NSHE).
The finalists are:
- Chaden Djalali, Ph.D.
- Jennifer Evans-Cowley, Ph.D.
- Jonathan Koppell, Ph.D.
- Brian Sandoval, J.D.

Chaden Djalali is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he also previously was executive vice president and provost.
Jennifer Evans-Cowley has been the provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, since 2017.
Jonathan Koppell has been the dean of the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona Stat e University in Phoenix, Arizona, since 2011.
Brian Sandoval was the 29 th governor of the State of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, serving from 2011-2019. He is a former federal judge and graduated from the University in 1986.
Now that the finalists have been announced, the University Community can participate in interviews for all of the candidates on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15. Interviews will be held via Zoom.
All finalists will visit campus over the course of these two days for tours, meetings and interviews. Schedules for the Sept. 14-15 campus meetings and interviews for the four finalists are available here. Once campus meetings have been completed, the ad hoc presidential search committee, made up of Regents and institutional advisory members, will meet, conduct interviews of the candidates and make a recommendation to the Board of Regents. Names of the individuals on these committees can be found here.
The NSHE Board of Regents has scheduled a public meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17, to vote to confirm the next President of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno. This meeting will be held via Zoom and will be open to the public. A link to view this meeting will be provided on the NSHE website.
