Dr. Coretta Patterson has joined the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno’s College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources as a lecturer and student advisor.
This is the fourth university that Patterson has worked at, which has added to her experiences in both the veterinary and teaching fields. Currently, Patterson teaches undergraduate students in agriculture and veterinary science majors and advises pre-veterinary science students.
Patterson completed the Walter and Pauline Adams teaching fellowship at Michigan State University in 2008, and in 2013, she completed the in England.
“I wanted to work with undergraduate students because of the ways I could guide them,” Patterson said. “I can offer them options that they haven’t considered based on my experiences from working at different institutions.”
Patterson plans to focus on continuing to help pre-veterinary students explore different options for graduate school as well as increase the number of veterinary students in the program. She also wants to concentrate on offering interesting and relevant classes to her students.
