More than 100 faculty over the years have taught overseas for USAC

Each year, University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) offers University faculty the opportunity to teach abroad at one of USAC's 27 specialty program locations. The Visiting Professor program allows University students who are studying abroad to take courses in just about any discipline imaginable and allows faculty from the University and other affiliated universities to teach students from universities around the United States in an international setting.

During the 2018-2019 academic year, five faculty members will be teaching classes overseas. Here are the classes that will be taught:

Summer Session I

Food Writing and Photography (JOUR, 300-level, 3 credits)

Todd Felts
Florianópolis, Brazil
Business Communications and Social Media (BUS/COM, 400-level, 3 credits)

Amber Warren
Reggio Emilia, Italy
Education in Global Contexts (EDU, 300-level, 3 credits)

Lynda Wiest
Heredia, Costa Rica
Education Workshop/Project: Gender Issues in Education (EDU, 400/600-level, 3 credits)

Spring 2019

Pradyumn Srivastava
San Ramon, Costa Rica
Communication and Language Disorders (SPA, 400-level, 3 credits)
Prerequisite: any course related to "Speech and Language Development"
Articulation and Phonological Disorders (SPA, 300-level, 3 credits)
Prerequisite: Any course on "Phonetics" and "Speech and Language Development"

Students who are interested in studying abroad and learning what classes are available should visit the USAC website or visit the USAC office located on the first floor of the Virginia Street Gym. Students can still apply to study abroad for summer, fall, and spring program.
