Mineral Monday is a weekly video series exploring the many amazing minerals, fossils, and historic objects on display at the W.M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum as told by museum curator Garrett Barmore. Learn about the dense, red mineral cinnabar on this week's episode! Cinnabar was often mined to make a metallic element commonly used in thermometers. Any guesses as to which element that is?

Be sure to watch the Keck Museum CinéNews announcement at the end of this week's episode! Mineral Monday will be taking a short break from our regular programming starting July 2 to prepare for season two of Mineral Monday, launching August 27, 2018! In the meantime, keep an eye on your inbox for updates and sneak peeks!
