The Road to TEDx, a student speaker competition, will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 in the Joe Crowley Student Union. Members of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno's Business Student Council are seeking passionate local students to participate and share their "big idea worth spreading."
Students who can present ideas in a dynamic, unique and interesting way may be chosen to speak at TEDxUniversityofÁùºÏ±¦µä set for Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
Any student from the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno; Truckee Meadows Community College; Western ÁùºÏ±¦µä College and Washoe County School District high schools is welcome to apply. Applications for The Road to TEDx will close Friday, Sept. 15. All applications and video samples will be reviewed by a committee of former TEDxUniversityofÁùºÏ±¦µä speakers and current team members. From there, six to eight students will be selected to speak at The Road to TEDx event.
In order to participate in the event, candidates must be available Tuesday, Sept. 26 2017 from 6-8 p.m. First, second and third place participants will receive a prize. Additionally, the winner of the student speaker competition will be invited to speak at TEDxUniversityofÁùºÏ±¦µä set for Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 in the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
Admission to the Road of TEDx is free, but space is limited.
