With a love for writing and editing, and a love for the Reno community, Jenny Perry and Krystal Pyatt put their brains together and thought of a business venture that would unite their two loves together, a book editing business in Reno, Nev.
Called Pypeline Editing, Pyatt and Perry say their business offers something unique to each book sent their way that other publishing businesses do not - two editors.
"The author receives two sets of eyes to ensure that grammar issues and typos are completely eradicated," Pyatt said.
To Perry and Pyatt the idea of having their business started as a joke and was turned into reality at the beginning of the year.
"We started out by discussing common interests and skills," Pyatt said. "From there, we found we both love books and we decided to start a book editing business."
The young women enjoy that they not only read books for a living, but they are able to do so in a market that needs editors, especially first-time authors in need of professional advice.
Perry is a Reno native and a graduate of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
"I have no shame in admitting that I am book nerd," Perry said. "This is why I am so passionate about the business and helping authors tell their stories."
Pyatt, who grew up in Sparks, Nev. graduated from the University with a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in cultural anthropology. Pyatt writes for a satirical news site and her blog at kypattk.blogspot.com.
Since opening their business, Perry said they have created strong working relationships with local writers and businesses and look forward to what the future holds for them.
Not only does Pypeline Editing offer two editors, but they also specialize in copywriting, promotions and maintain an advice blog.
