ÁùºÏ±¦µä System of Higher Education (NSHE) faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in a fall conference for women in higher education. The third annual leadership conference, “Advancing Women’s Leadership: Styles, Strategies and Tools,” is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 10, at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno.
Participants will identify strategies to realize professional goals, network effectively and influence public policy through advocacy, research and programs.
Jane Nichols, the system’s vice chancellor for academic and student affairs and a former faculty member at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno; Maria Sheehan, president of Truckee Meadows Community College; and Merlinda Gallegos, MGM Mirage vice president for corporate philanthropy, will lead a morning panel discussion for “Networking Naturally.”
Christine Clark, the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Las Vegas’ vice president for diversity and inclusion, will deliver the afternoon keynote, “Still Speaking Truth to Power: The Continuing Responsibility of Progressive Leadership.”
Online registration can be completed at the conference Web site. Lodging and travel accommodations are posted on the site. The $25 registration fee may be paid with an NSHE campus purchasing card or personal credit card.
The ÁùºÏ±¦µä State Network of the American Council on Education, Office of Women in Higher Education is offering a limited number of subsidies to defray travel costs for NSHE faculty, administrators and professionals.
The ÁùºÏ±¦µä Network, one of 50 state networks under the auspices of the American Council on Education’s Office of Women in Higher Education, has organized the leadership development conference.

University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno President Milt Glick serves as state presidential sponsor.
