Make your voice heard in the College of Science
Dean Louisa Hope-Weeks encourages College of Science faculty and staff to take the "Stay Survey," which is open until February 29
Recently, the College of Science launched a “Stay Survey” designed to help me learn about the climate of the College, which I now proudly call home. Faculty and staff in the College of Science should have received an email about the survey on my behalf from Sam DiMuzio, my administrative assistant. If you feel you should have received that email but didn’t, please get in touch with Sam via email.
This anonymous survey should take about thirty minutes to complete and asks a range of questions about people's experience working in the College of Science. The anonymity of the survey is designed to ensure you feel comfortable expressing your feelings. It is essential that we get as many responses to the survey as possible. We can only address what we know about, and this survey aims to foster a positive work environment and make it possible for faculty and staff to be productive members of the College while maintaining work-life balance.
Once all the survey results have been collected, the newly established Climate Committee will evaluate the responses and look for common themes. The committee will then make an action plan to address any issues and improve the college to ensure it is a place where everyone can thrive.
With a wide breadth of personal experience, from being the youngest faculty member in my department to being department chair and associate dean, I hope those considering filling out the survey know I will read their responses with empathy and an open mind.
I will do my best to ensure that every member of the College of Science has the resources they need to be successful, and I look forward to learning more about the climate of the College from those who work hard every day to support our students. The College of Science’s faculty and staff inspire me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with them.
