RENO, Nev. – The University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno and will hold the 10th College Day pep rally on April 22. During the event, University faculty and students will encourage students to get excited about going to college. All students will receive a “Future Wolf Pack Student” T-shirt provided by the University’s Division of Student Services, which they will wear during the assembly.
“We are so fortunate to work with the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno to provide our students the motivation and inspiration to set goals on going to college,” Clayton Principal Rhonda Turnipseed said. “This assembly makes such an incredible impact on our students. Through inspirational speeches from students, coaches and administrators, our students are learning what it takes to prepare themselves for college as well as what opportunities are available locally.”
WHAT: The University will participate in a special pep-rally assembly for Clayton’s 6th through 8th-grade students to promote enthusiasm for future learning.
WHY: “Every student leaves the assembly a Wolf Pack fan, but most importantly, every student leaves the assembly wanting to go to college,” Turnipseed said. “The momentum provided by the University’s students and faculty provides the catalyst for our students to ‘step up’ as they are entering the most critical learning period of their adolescence.”
WHO: Clayton Principal Rhonda Turnipseed will lead the student assembly. She will introduce the University’s guest speakers including 2021-2022 President Austin Brown and Vice President Keegan Murphy, ÁùºÏ±¦µä Women’s Basketball Head Coach Amanda Levens and Wolf Pack student athletes Gabby Rones and Lexie Givens. Cheerleaders and a Wolf Pack mascot will also be in attendance.

MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Media can take b-roll footage of the pep rally. A Clayton student as well as University and Clayton representatives will also be available for interviews during event.
MEDIA PARKING: The event will be held in the school’s gymnasium. Media are encouraged to park in the school’s east parking lot off of Wyoming Avenue. Overflow parking will be available at the across Kings Row. All guests are required to check in at the front office and are asked to enter through the main entrance of the school.
